Hello Mali
Strengthening the capacity of health system and saving lives in most vulnerable communities

Selected Achievements
Jhpiego supported Mali’s National Institute of Public Health to strengthen the capacity of the National Reference Laboratory system and improve quality control and assurance at multiple laboratories in COVID-19 antigen testing, including those that conducted PCR tests. We trained laboratory staff in sequencing techniques and provided supplies to conduct COVID-19 gene sequencing.
Jhpiego provided technical and financial support to the Division of Disease Surveillance and Response to strengthen their use of technical guidelines for disease surveillance. The surveillance was used to identify and address gaps, notify suspected cases, investigate cases, and provide lab results in four health districts and eight community health centers in the Kayes and Segou regions.
Jhpiego provided technical and financial support to train 50 national, regional, and district health staff in rapid response team management in Koulikoro and Ségou.
We provided basic obstetric and newborn care, including referrals and evacuations when needed, and postpartum family planning.
