Our Work

HIV Prevention

In partnership with the Ministry of Health, the US government, civil society, local leaders, and the private sector, Project DOLO supports the Government of Malawi to provide safe, high-quality voluntary medical male circumcision (VMMC) services to men over 14 years old.

  • The project aims to increase voluntary medical male circumcision uptake through community-driven messaging, improve referrals to other health services, and track service quality and results.

  • Jhpiego is strengthening existing sites and expert teams in Lilongwe to reach more men with integrated male wellness services.

  • Jhpiego is using data to reach underserved groups and expand services through innovative delivery methods.

  • The project also focuses on building the Ministry of Health’s capacity to continue the work beyond the project’s end.

Sustainable HIV Epidemic Control

Working with the Malawi Defense Force (MDF), the Government of Malawi, and the US Government, the Malawi Defense Force Partnership for Sustainable HIV Epidemic Control Project aims to reduce the risk of HIV among active-duty military personnel, their families, and nearby communities.

  • Jhpiego supports 13 Malawi Defense Force health facilities across all three regions of the country.

  • Jhpiego focuses on closing gaps in HIV services by offering prevention, testing, treatment, and viral load monitoring.

  • In partnership with the Malawi Defense Force, Jhpiego strengthens health systems, labs, and data reporting to ensure sustainability of this work beyond the life of the project.
