Selected Achievements

  • Jhpiego’s 2025 seasonal malaria chemoprevention campaign, supported by GiveWell, reached more than 2,162,984 children with preventive malaria medications.

  • Jhpiego Cameroon developed the first draft of the community infection and prevention procedures and tools. This project helped train 18 laboratory and surveillance personnel on collection, packaging, transportation, and diagnosis of stool samples from suspected cases to enhance the fight against cholera outbreak in the country.

Recent Projects

Malaria Prevention and Treatment

Funded by the GiveWell Foundation, Jhpiego conducted seasonal malaria chemoprevention campaigns in 2025 with essential services for malaria prevention and treatment.

  • Jhpiego trained 12,238 mobilizers and community health workers in 48 health districts in the North and Far North Regions of Cameroon.

  • Using a door-to door approach, we distributed and monitored the administration of antimalarial drugs within communities.

  • Jhpiego trained more than 600 health workers in malaria prevention and treatment and supported community health workers in delivering essential services in rural areas.

Enhancing Global Health Security

Funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Jhpiego worked with the Ministry of Public Health Cameroon and other agencies to strengthen health systems for better preparation and response to health emergencies.

  • Jhpiego provided technical assistance to the Ministry of Health’s Department for the Control of Diseases, Epidemics and Pandemics to bolster the implementation of activities for immunization, workplace development, emergency management, laboratory quality and system strengthening, and surveillance and epidemiology.
