With Jhpiego support, more than 178,000 Chadians learned their HIV status and more than 55,000 men received voluntary medical male circumcision services for HIV prevention. In addition, more than 55,000 individuals have been newly enrolled in pre-exposure prophylaxis against HIV.
Jhpiego focuses on strengthening the managerial and administrative capacities of members of the Sectoral Committee for the Fight Against AIDS (CSLS/MDN).
We support the operationalization of both existing and new HIV care sites in infirmaries and military garrison hospitals across targeted provinces to enhance the quality of services provided to clients.
We monitor patients online within the HIV care cohort of these areas using the Tracker module of DHIS2. To ensure effective implementation, we built the capacity and skills of implementation actors through initial training, ongoing on-site training, coaching missions, and supervision of activities. We also validate data at HIV care sites as well as during data compilation and validation workshops, enabling these sites to take ownership of their data.
We support the implementation of community interventions by training Community Health Workers (CHWs) on essential topics and assist in managing HIV-related supplies within care facilities. Finally, we provide guidance and advice on strategies for conducting viral load testing among HIV patients.
