Supporting local innovation ecosystems

Jhpiego’s Worldwide Innovation Support Hub (WISH) fosters local innovation that responds to community needs and country priorities. Building on our 50-year track record of testing and scaling a diverse array of products, devices, procedures and approaches, we’re harnessing our expertise, relationships, and reputation to help entrepreneurs refine their solutions, strengthen their organizations, partner with governments, and scale their impact within public health systems. Catalyzing Innovation Through Jhpiego Country Offices

Over the last 5 years, Jhpiego has invested over $2.5 million in pioneering innovation through 20 of our country offices. Through these investments, we’ve explored new frontiers in global health, including predictive analytics, AI-powered point-of-care diagnostics, social listening and micro-influencer networks, and use of AI for content creation.
We’ve published our results, presented our findings in global convenings, and taken ideas with a promising proof-of-concept to greater scale through partnerships. This work charts new territory in global health and fosters a culture of innovation throughout our programs.
For example, to anticipate HIV health care needs, we partnered with Palindrome Data to develop an algorithm that predicts 6 of every 10 Interruptions-in-Treatment among HIV positive people in Nigeria, enabling proactive interventions to support retention in care.
